Hello everyone! It’s Kimmie. I hope you’re having a wonderful day! I’m here to talk about the Theater District, which is one of the main staples of downtown Buffalo! There are a handful of gorgeous places to visit and see wonderful shows.
Shea’s Performing Arts Center is the biggest, and it's the one you’ve probably heard of before. Shea’s is a touring theater, which means that it brings in shows from out of town for a month or so before they move on. Some of the performances they’ve had recently are Hamilton, Mean Girls, Dear Evan Hanson, Fiddler on The Roof, and Aladdin.
Shea’s 710 Theater is a smaller theater that is managed and owned by the Performing Arts Center. Some of the shows it’s done in the past have been Master Harold… and the Boys, and The Three Musketeers.
My favorite theater in the area is The Irish Classical. They set their plays in the round, with chairs on all four sides of the stage, which makes the experience very immersive. Some of their recent shows have been Sense and Sensibility, ‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore, and The Night Alive.
The theater district is one of the best parts of Buffalo. It brings all sorts of people together to enjoy amazing works of art, and I hope that you’ll come someday to check it out!
